Cooper's Ferry Remembers Board Chairman, Mr. Kevin G. Halpern

Dear Friends and Members of the Camden Community,

It is with a profound sense of loss and sadness that I must announce the passing of the Chairman of our Board of Directors Mr. Kevin G. Halpern, who passed away on Monday evening.

Kevin's service to our Board will be long remembered, as he served not only as our founding Chairman, but continued in that role for twenty-eight years, missing only one meeting in that time. Kevin saw a vision for a Camden that many would have discarded, but unlike many Kevin acted on his vision and supported the very belief that drives our organization to this day.   Just as his belief in Camden was unwavering so shall our resolve be in realizing his dream of Camden.

We here at Cooper’s Ferry are devastated by the loss of such an inspirational leader and mentor.  Kevin’s passing was much too soon, but his impact on Camden will endure.  Kevin was there at the founding of Cooper’s Ferry in 1984, and his leadership saw it to grow into a city-wide economic development organization that has impacted the lives of thousands of city residents.  The City of Camden is forever better because of his unwavering dedication to a brighter future.  We will always remember his powerful insights and his laughter, and his lessons in life and perseverance will be a part of this company and this city forever.

We extend our thoughts and prayers to his family in their time of bereavement.

We will pass along service information as it is announced.
