Longtime Camden Official Elected as Mayor

Longtime Camden official and resident Francisco “Frank” Moran was elected Tuesday as the city's new leader. Moran’s experience in government dates back 30 years to shortly after he graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School when he began working as a laborer for the city. Most recently he worked as the Director of Parks for Camden County. Moran has served on the city’s council for twenty years and the last seven years as Council President.

Mayor-Elect Moran will be spending the coming days putting together a transition team to continue to build on the momentum of Mayor Dana Redd’s administration. “I am excited to continue to work with the residents of Camden to improve our neighborhoods. Mayor Redd did an amazing job in setting the foundation for Camden’s progress. This involved a heavy amount of internal governmental work. Now, with Camden on the right path to prosperity my administration can focus on making sure we have more civic engagement and ensure that our residents take full advantage of the opportunities that await them”, said Moran, who will be sworn in in January along with council members Angel Fuentes, Sheila Davis, and Curtis Jenkins.

Moran lives in East Camden with his wife Yvette of 27 years. The couple have two adult children and two grandchildren.
