PowerCorps Camden trains young people from age 18-26 to be future community leaders. They provide jobs, training, and education for Camden residents. The 6-month program focuses on making a sustainable environmental impact in neighborhoods around the city. This work includes an education in green infrastructure, as well as hands-on work in stormwater management, debris removal, and planting. Their programs for a greener Camden just got a big boost, in the form of a $10,000 grant.

Vibrant community programming a hit with Camden residents
 
Camden’s neighborhoods are most vibrant when communities come together to interact with each other. When neighbors, visitors and civic leaders get together to utilize the common spaces we share for fun, food, and education, great things happen. A community-led initiative called Connect The Lots(CTL) implements place-making activities in underused parks and vacant lots to make these connections materialize.
